Frederick Smythe Greenwood silver stone set butter knife
Price: Sold
For sale is this attractive butter knife set with a good green chrysoprase stone and made by Frederick Smythe-Greenwood. This maker is not well known, and he worked on his own for just two years between 1910 and 1912, before forming a partnership as the better known Greenwood and Watts.
His work is so close in style to that of Ramsden & Carr it is likely that he spent time in that workshop. As with Ramsden & Carr’s pieces, most of Greenwood’s pieces are mafked “F.S.Greenwood me fecit”
This piece is very nice “in the hand” and in very good condition.
