A Barnet Henry Joseph gold and opal pendant

This is another especially good gold pendant by the well regarded arts and crafts jewellers Barnet Henry Joseph – see archive for further examples. It is clearly influenced by the Liberty jewellery of Archibald Knox and others.  The pendant is set with three very good, lively, crystal opals. The pendant is marked for BHJ and 9 carat gold.  In excellent original condition.

Barnet Henry Joseph was a longstanding jewellery company from the Victorian period that started making a range of affordable gold art nouveau style jewellery from c 1900-1920.
