A Dorrie Nossiter gold, silver, citrine and peridot pendant and earring set

I am really delighted to offer for sale this elegant Dorrie Nossiter set comprising a pendant and stud earrings.  Each piece is set with faceted citrines and peridots set in silver with touches of gold. The pieces are typically unmarked, but carry Nossiter’s unequivocal and distinctive design style.

Sets like this are rare, and this is a particularly fine and wearable  example.  All the pieces are in excellent condition though the earrings are probably old conversions from clips to studs, for pierced ears and the pendant chain from the bezel up is probably not original.

Dorrie Nossiter was born in 1893, trained at the Birmingham School of Art and ran her own jewellery shop and workshop in London from c 1930-1960’s. She was part of that later group of arts and crafts women jewellers that included Sibyl Dunlop, Amy Sandheim and Frances Harling (Amy’s sister), and also Bernard Instone (not a woman!).
