A large Bernard Cuzner silver bowl

Price: £1,350

For sale is this large, heavy Bernard Cuzner bowl.  It is beautifully hand raised and hammered and retains its original planished patina. The bowl carries a chased frieze in a very “Festival of Britain” design.  The bowl is a late piece by Cuzner dating to 1947 and in excellent original condition. This is a really beautiful, tactile, piece of silver in the arts and crafts tradition with a post war twist.

Cuzner (1877-1956) was head of metalwork at the Birmingham School of Art from 1910 to 1942. His work can be seen in the Victoria and Albert Museum silver room 67, case 7.
