A William Sharman repousse silver dish

Price range: Sold

For sale is this fine arts and crafts hand hammered dish by the little known Birmingham maker William Edward Sharman. It is something of a mystery piece as it is of exceptional quality and gauge, I would say in the style of Latino Movio.  William Sharman, despite having an unusual sponsors mark in the arts and crafts style, is a little known commercial maker who registered in Birmingham in 1891 as a “pipe and umbrella mounter”.  There is a story to tell here I am sure but I have not been able to uncover it!  Simply a lovely object in crisp excellent condition.
