Stunning novelty table lighters by G Melillo Naples. Giacinto Melillo was Castellani’s workshop manager until c 1875 when he established his own workshop. Famed for his fine classical revival jewellery (see example in the British Museum) he made a few rare, typically very heavy, silver pieces, often modelled on classical roman pottery or bronzes.
