Charles Ashbee for the Guild of Handicraft a set of six silver butter knives

Price range: Sold

For sale is this incredible set of six Guild of Handicraft antique silver butter knives by Charles Ashbee.  A “true” set, each carries the same hallmark for London 1902, stamped to the blade. The finials to each are  set with green Amazonite. The handles have a particularly nice twist and are in excellent condition.

How this set came to be made is not known but was presumably a special order.  It has been acquired from a private estate in America, which in turn acquired them in the 1960-1970’s, most likely in the UK.  They are presented in a modern box.
