A Charles Ashbee for the Guild of Handicraft silver pepper

For sale is this iconic dainty pepper designed by Charles Ashbee for the Guild of Handicraft.  The pepper is set with five green stones which I think are chrysoprase but may be Connemara marble.  It is an early example dating to 1900 and carries the GofH Ltd mark to both body and lid.

Condition overall is excellent.  The lid to the pepper fits tightly and unusually still retains its silver interior peg to the body that holds the lid securely.

This pepper featured in my recent selling Exhibition in October and associated catalogue of the Guild’s silver
