A pair of Bernard Instone citrine earrings

Price range: Sold

For sale are these silver and gold (or gilt) citrine earrings by Bernard Instone. Both earrings are unusually fully hallmarked for Instone, with date marks for 1927.  The earrings are principally made of sterling silver with gold or gilt flowers and very bright, deep cut citrines.   It is particularly unusual to find original arts and crafts earrings of this scale.

Overall condition is excellent. The earrings have been altered to stud posts for pierced ears.

Bernard Instone was a Birmingham School jeweller from the later arts and crafts period. He trained under the Gaskins and was known to make jewellery for Sibyl Dunlop.
