A Charles Ashbee for the Guild of Handicraft silver mustard, with garnet
This mustard was on loan to the “Cockneys in Arcadia; C R Ashbee in Chipping Campden” Exhibition at Court Barn Museum 7th April to 9th July.
This major exhibition celebrating a decade of Court Barn is curated by experts Alan Crawford and Mary Greensted and is the first to showcase C R Ashbee’s Campden period and will include the full range of Ashbee’s work during that time, as a designer of furniture, metalwork, silver, jewellery and printed books.
Sold is a Charles Ashbee for the Guild of Handicraft silver mustard set with a red garnet. A really beautiful piece that has both a modernist and jewel like quality. The mustard is with a replacement Powell liner and a modern Guild of Handicraft spoon.
