A fine Omar Ramsden silver box with stunning enamel lid
Price range: Sold
For sale is this Omar Ramsden silver box with stunning quality enamel inset to the lid. Fully assayed for London 1936. Even by the high standards of Omar Ramsden this is of exceptional quality. The box is of classic form with wood cedar lining. Like the best Ramsden boxes it has a solid silver base.
The enamel on copper inset is the real star, however. It is a classic galleon design, common to the arts and crafts movement, and of superb quality. There is great detail and an array of good colours. This is a technically accomplished plaque in original and excellent condition.
The box is an exceptional gauge of silver, though just possibly this is enhanced through weighting.
Condition is excellent and original.
