Additional Information
Murrle Bennett & Co was established in London by Ernst Murrle and J.B Bennett and specialized in high quality affordable silver and gold jewellery. The firm produced jewellery predominantly in the Art Nouveau style. Their designs were often characterized by abstract motifs typical of Art Nouveau and the Arts & Crafts movements. Their relationship with Liberty & Co is not entirely clear but it seems they, alongside William Hair Haseler, made jewellery for Liberty’s Cymric range, and using Archibald Knox designs.
