A Kate Harris art nouveau silver buckle
A fabulous silver buckle by Kate Harris, the design incorporating her classic Dutch figures with her forge- me-not flowers. Hallmarked for William Gibson and John Lawrence Langman (Goldsmiths and Silversmiths). Undoubtedly their retail mark for a piece known to be made by William Hutton and Sons. London 1899. It is a good size and gauge.

Kate Harris was employed the London studio of William Hutton & Sons to produce artistic silver from 1899 to c 1905. Her work is often hallmarked for Goldsmiths and Silversmiths who were retailers as well as manufacturers.
