A Kate Harris art nouveau silver sauce boat

Price: £850

For sale is this really great Kate Harris silver sauce boat made by William Hutton & Sons, in this case retailed and assayed for Laurence Connell. Dated London 1904. The design exemplifies Harris at her best.  The sauce boat is of wonderfully sleek modern design, with a geometric cross foot and then a delicate art nouveau thumb piece of mistletoe leaves to the handle. In excellent condition.  Many many years ago I failed to buy a pair of these and my regret has finally been extinguised!

Kate Harris was employed by the London studio of William Hutton & Sons to produce artistic silver from 1899 to c 1905. Harris was one of the very few women, or British exhibitors, to win recognition at the 1900 Paris International Exhibition.
