A Liberty gold and blister pearl necklace
Price range: £1,000-£5,000
A stunning gold Cymric arts and crafts necklace set with blister pearls. The necklace appears as model 8337 in the Liberty jewellery sketch book in the Westminster Archives, page 199. The clasp looks to be an original Liberty clasp.
The design of this necklace is attributed to Archibald Knox and it appears in Dr Stephen Martin’s book Archibald Knox page 248.
The condition is excellent and original. I have not tested the gold, but typically Liberty made these better necklaces in 15 or 18 carat gold.
The necklace is not assayed as is typical of Liberty’s jewellery. Their are unidentified marks to the rings holding the clasp (possibly French weavil import mark).
