A modernist Georg Jensen silver jug by Gustav Pedersen, 1936

For sale is this striking modernist jug for Georg Jensen designed by Gustav Pedersen in around 1935, model 744.  Sufficiently radical in its design, it is an extremely rare example.  The jug has Jensen  pre-war marks for 1933-44 and Georg Jensen’s own London import mark dated 1936.  The base is also marked GP for Gustav Pedersen. Gustav Pedersen (1895-72) began working at the Georg Jensen’s workshop in 1915 and was appointed foreman of the hollowware department in 1917.
