A Nelson Dawson (attrib) copper and enamel charger

Price range: Sold

A rare copper and enamel charger by Nelson Dawson.  The enamel plaque on the charger most likely by Nelson’s wife Edith.  The charger is unmarked but attributed to Dawson on stylistic grounds; the repousse flower or money pod design in this style is a classic Dawson motif, as is the “panel” design of the charger.

Nelson Dawson and his wife Edith were early innovators in the area of metalwork and enamel in this period of the arts and crafts movement.
