A rare Borrowdale (Lakeland Rural Industries “LRI”) silver bowl. It is very well made, hand raised and hammered. LRI was established after the second world war along similar principles to the Keswick School of Industrial Arts and was located nearby in the Lake District. Pieces by them in copper and brass are well known but in sterling silver, very uncommon. This pieces is hallmarked for 1952, early in LRI’s development.
