A Robert Hilton (Keswick) stone set small silver box
Price range: Sold
For sale is this very rare Robert Hilton personally marked box. It is dated 1904, the year Hilton joined the Keswick School of Industrial Art as design director. Given he joined in January it seems likely this is a Keswick piece but personal in design and/or manufacture to Hilton.
The box sits on four arts and crafts style wire feet with a long green stone, probably agate, set to the lid. The box is lined with velvet. The main box and lid are a modest gauge of silver.
