A set of eight Wiener Werkstatte buttons

Price: £1,750

A rare set of Wiener Werkstatte silver plated (“Alpaka”) buttons.  With glass (maybe garnet) inserts and fully marked for the Wiener Werkstatte.  The glass or garnet inserts are a nicer lighter red than shown in the image. I would date these to quite early in the Wiener Werkstatte’s existence (c 1905) as they still show the British arts and crafts influence in design and with hand hammering.  Each button is domed with diamter of c. 2.5cm.  Condition is very good and original with most of the buttons having clear marks and no repairs to the backs.  The coppery base metal is visible on some where the plate is worn.  An original set of eight Wiener Werkstatte buttons is very rare.
