A silver and amethyst pendant by Liberty & Co
Price range: £945
A lovely wearable silver and amethyst Liberty pendant dating to c. 1910. The amethyst is a good size and saturation. There are small seed pearls to the surround. It appears in the Liberty Jewellery sketch book number 9608, page 313. Based on the design and delicacy of the silver wirework, I am confident in attributing it to Bernard Cuzner, the Birmingham School jeweller and silversmith who was one of Liberty’s leading designers, c 1900-6, and thereafter, post the Cymric range, Liberty’s main designer of silver.
The condition is excellent and original. Clasp probably not original. The necklace is marked for Liberty & Co, but not assayed.
