A silver and opal necklace by Arthur and Georgie Gaskin
Price range: £1,950
For sale is this beautiful and sophisticated silver, opal and paste necklace or large pendant by Arthur and Georgie Gaskin. This necklace is an early Gaskin design and very similar to a necklace in the V&A Collection Ref M.58-2022 at this link.
The petal leaves are made in three dimensions (unlike later pieces where leaves are flat) and the overall design a little more open than later pieces. The choice of vibrant opals makes this an especially attractive and wearable piece. Whilst unmarked, it is undoubtedly a Gaskin piece. The chain and clasp may well be original – the clasp is the same as the V&A example. The necklace is in excellent original condition.
