A silver and turquoise pendant by Bernard Cuzner

This is a special and unique arts and crafts silver pendant designed and made by Bernard Cuzner.  It is formed of slivers of sheet silver “leaves”and silver wirework,  set with a large suspended turquoise, and what I believe is a red coral bead.   The style of the piece is very Guild of Handicraft, and indeed similar to work by Cuzner’s partner from 1902-4, A H Jones.

Whilst unmarked the pendant can be ascribed to Cuzner as the exact piece features in a photo in “Arts and Cafts” issue 1, no. 2, July 1904, page 91.  The photo is from the Dress Designers Exhibition at the Dore Gallery, May 1904.  See images.
