A small arts and crafts silver cup or chalice

Price: Sold

A really interesting small silver cup or chalice. It is not assayed but carries a makers mark for a dolphin or fish, perhaps a leaping salmon – see images.  I have not been able to identify the mark but it has been seen on very Guild of Handicraft style egg cups or salts, with Ruskin liners. Based on the design of the piece, it may be a Leicester School of Arts piece, though the mark itself points perhaps to a Newlyn School worker.  I am certain it is British and dates to c 1900-1920.  A lovely piece to own and research – I have now had my fun with it and admitted defeat!

Condition is very good.
