A small Mabel Sefton enamel plaque
For sale is this small, delightful, plaque by Mabel Sefton, a highly respected sculptor and enamellist active around 1905-10. This miniature plaque of a girl with two doves has that desirable gem like quality, with a good range of colours and foiling of the enamel.
The plaque is in excellent condition and is in a modern frame. The plaque is not signed but has direct provenance to Sefton’s descendants who sold a number of pieces of her work, including this plaque as lot 27, at Mellors & Kirk auction house, February 26th, 2009.
