A Theodor Fahrner pendant by Max Benirschke, 1905-07

A rare pendant by Max Benirschke for Theodor Fahrner in silver set with green enamels. The pendant is fully marked for Theodor Fahrner and 935 silver.

The architect and designer Max Benirschke was not only Josef Hoffmann’s fellow student at the Kunstgewerbeschule, but also Peter Behrens’s assistant. His cooperation with Theodor Fahrner is documented for the period 1905-07.  This pendant was published in the Dekorativ Kunst, Vol 16, May 1908.
