An Archibald Knox Cymric silver and enamel spoon

A rare and unusual Archibald Knox spoon with enamel decoration, made for Liberty & Co, 1905. The handle is formed of the coat of arms of the City of London, augmented with Knox’s own integral celtic knots. The spoon is marked for model 3140 and appears in the Liberty silver sketch book. It is one of two City of London commemorative designs Knox made for Liberty. This spoon will appear in Dr Stephen Martin’s forthcoming revised third edition of his book on Knox.
