An Archibald Knox Cymric silver muffin dish for Liberty & Co
An Archibald Knox Cymric silver muffin dish for Liberty & Co. This is a really remarkable modernist design and, even more remarkable, is fully assayed for as early as 1901. The clean lined design is augmented with a classic Knox Celtic motif embossed in the lid. A rare piece, the only other design similar to this style is in the Isle of Man Museum accession number 1956- 0033. The dish appears in the Liberty silver sketch book at Westminster Archive number 5051. This dish will appear in Dr Steve Martin’s forthcoming third edition of his book, Archibald Knox.
The dish is in great condition and a very good gauge of silver.
