An Archibald Knox for Liberty gold and emerald pendant

Price range: Sold

For sale is this very wearable and really great example of Knox’s jewellery for Liberty.

The pendant is formed of two “Celtic style” gold wire work loops. The lower loop is a particularly interesting asymmetric modernist design, very much in the style of Charles Rennie Mackintosh (in keeping with other Knox masterpieces – most notably Knox’s Magnus clock). The pendant is set with twenty four emeralds of various sizes, all of a very good and bright colour.

This design appears (as a necklace) in the Liberty jewellery sketch books model 8264 page 220.  Image available on request.  This pendant will appear in Dr Stephen Martin’s forthcoming revised third edition of his book “Archibald Knox”.

Condition is excellent with slight discolouration/tarnish of small areas of the gold, principally to the pendant’s back.  This could readily be removed subject to preference.
