An arts and crafts enamel plaque depicting a peacock and angel

For sale is this gem of an enamel plaque depicting an angel playing a lute to a peacock in an ornate garden setting.  To the right foreground are two courting doves. There is undoubtedly symbolism to this plaque but I have not identified it’s meaning.  Possibly the inspiration is a famous painting by Girolamo dei Libri, 1520, “Madonna and Child with Saints” now held by the Metropolitan Museum of Art.  See other images.  The plaque is beautifully done with vibrant colours and what is clearly an original copper frame

The plaque is not signed and I have not been able to attribute a maker though the style is very similar to that taught by the likes of Alexander Fisher or Ernestine Mills.

Condition is very good and original.  There is one diagonal enamel crack to the left corner and a hairline crack across the peacock feathers that do not detract from the overall aesthetic.
