An exceptional Ramsden & Carr silver box

One of the best and largest Ramsden & Carr silver powder boxes I have seen, with vine and grape design.  The lid augmented with a finial holding a a pinky red stone that I believe is red jasper marble.

The base is chased  “OMAR RAMSDEN ET ALWYN CARR ME FECERUNT MCMX “.

Fully hallmarked for London 1910.   The box is in excellent original condition. The jasper stone insert has some hairline cracks that are a natural part of this type of material.  The box has direct provenance to the Sea Wolf Collection, and is in the published catalogue of that name entitled “a personal touch” pag 102.
