An outstanding Alwyn Carr large silver spoon
Price range: Sold
A really great silver spoon by Alwyn Carr, Carr was one half of the Ramsden & Carr partnership that split after the first world war. Omar Ramsden went onto to great commercial success, whilst Alwyn Carr remained a studio silversmith whose work is far rarer. This spoon is an exceptional example of his work. Large and heavy, the terminal is designed with a still crisp depiction of St Christopher crossing the river with a child on his back. There seem to be initials or letters incorporated into the design – possibly “CFFVY”. Clearly hallmarked for London 1922. Excellent condition with crisp design and hallmarks.
