Contemporary silver caddy spoon by Rod Kelly and Sheila Macdonald

I occasionally allow myself the purchase of contemporary silver, where the a piece so astounds me it outweighs my natural inclination to stick to turn of the 20th century pieces  In this case the scales tipped very strongly in favour of immediate acquisition! For sale is this really incredible caddy spoon with enamel peacock handle – a nice nod to the late Victorian and arts and crafts design movements which celebrated that particular motif.

This caddy spoon was made in 2011 by one of Britain’s greatest silversmiths, chasers and engravers, Rod Kelly, and greatest enamellers, his wife Shelia MacDonald.  Both their marks are on this piece.

It is in excellent condition and very nice “in the hand”.
