Modern jewellery or tobacco box

Price range: Sold

A wonderful example of 1950’s design and post war silver smithing. This piece is hallmarked for Corke & Apthorpe, London 1953. Corke & Apthorpe were a specialist firm largely making fittings for furniture and active pre 1939.  The firm was ultimately taken over by a conglomerate. It is most likely an apprentice piece from a worker within that group who used a pre-existing registered mark.  A very heavy gauge of silver and hand crafted.
